Ça Marche! (It works!) - Portfolio of Adam Samson
http://www.adamsamson.us/Ca-Marche-It-works
Creative Programming, Graphic Design. Self-Directed (but showcases content from a range of projects). Is little tumblr blog of things that [mostly] work. It's just recently gotten its own URL at mostlywork.io. I originally made it to showcase experiments made with this project of mine:. Namely, it's a collection of downloadable programming experiments, mostly made in Max and Processing. A simple tool sandbox for making diverse 2D-projected Perlin noise animations. Code written for the marbletown museum i...
Motion Reel - Portfolio of Adam Samson
http://www.adamsamson.us/Motion-Reel
Motion Graphics, Animation, Color Design, Computational Design. Various (assigned, commissioned, and self-directed). Video documentation of some of the graphical work I've done, including both hand-animated and generative works. Made with Inkscape, Processing, Max MSP, Cinema 4D, After Effects, or in combinations of several. The interactive experiments displayed at 0:42 have written entries and source code available on my blog Ça Marche. Visual Reel 2015 (1020px version).
Automat - Portfolio of Adam Samson
http://www.adamsamson.us/Automat-1
Creative Code, Computational Design. Created as BFA Thesis Prototype, Now ongoing project. Automat is a code object designed for use in the creation of generative art and interactive simulations in order to make possible the design of lifelike simulations with a variety of pseudorandom behaviors. I originally wrote it in Cycling 74's Max 6 and later transposed into Processing. The max object can be downloaded here, and the Processing version is getting a GUI treatment and will be available soon.

Ça marche!
The blog of things that mostly work is now on twitter. Download and take apart all the things here. Besides being a useful all-purpose noise function, Perlin noise is probably the most common tool of its kind in the interactive arts. It’s also very similar to the fractal noise plug-in you can find in Adobe After Effects to make cool foggy or watery patterns. You can see a demo of it at work in my BFA thesis graphics breakdown here. Hold something big and flat up to the kinect and it will immediately find...
