October fun | the rural baby adventures
https://ruralbaby.wordpress.com/2009/10/11/october-fun
The rural baby adventures. Life is getting a whole lot more complicated! October 11, 2009 in updates. It’s only October 11th, and already we’ve been to 2 pumpkin patches! And we’ve seen countless tractors (Dalton is quick to point them out on our drives) busy preparing next year’s grain and grass crops. We even visited a fire station today (pancake breakfast), along with a wetland, and our friends’ farm. Thanks for the beautiful alphabet poster! Gen, Tina and the boys. Hip Mama – parenting zine.

The rural baby adventures. Life is getting a whole lot more complicated! 2 years old, plus a month. June 28, 2009 in archives. Okay, so I’m the worst blogging mama ever. Dalton turned 2 on May 22, and it’s now June 28th (happy birthday to my mom! And I’m just now getting around to post. Life has just been a bit crazy over the past few weeks, with a series of farm volunteers (yay for awesome volunteers! And hung out with Dada. On Father’s Day at Apifera Farm, and we’ve had lots of fun just wan...Thank goo...

da dood blog: Is that an office building or a jail?
http://robindood.blogspot.com/2006/01/is-that-office-building-or-jail.html
Thursday, January 05, 2006. Is that an office building or a jail? Safely back in Oslo after the celebration of jól down south, I found myself with a new understanding. Or not new, but reinforced and articulated. While watching the BBC soap. With a friend who got the DVD for jól, from a friend at. Office, I suddenly felt the urge to write down two words on somebody’s business card: Frivillig fengsel. Voluntary imprisonment. Camps And I followed her link and read more about unschooling. Walking home from t...

Mis-spent Youth | Villageblog
https://villageblog.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/mis-spent-youth
Where's the Village. Laquo; Whole Foods. I’m so right and you’re all wrong etc. April 6, 2010. I’ve been reading some of John Holt’s early. I realise that by saying this I’m probably insulting most of the people who are likely to read this (as well as myself) but really are we intellectuals as smart as we think we are? The people who fail to operate in the world of symbols from an early enough age tend to conclude (well, they get told) that they must be stupid and give up thinking altogether so it’...

Where's the Village. Laquo; More Alice Miller. January 13, 2006. NOTE: this was published in Uncensored Magazine. 8211; At least I’m told it was – I never saw the actual issue it was in (issue 4 I think). A critical Look at the Salaried Professionals and the Soul-battering System That Shapes Their Lives. Rowman and Littlefield Publishers. Disciplined Minds also deconstructs professional training by explaining that the main purpose of the training is to produce people that will take on their employer’s id...

Whole Foods | Villageblog
https://villageblog.wordpress.com/2008/10/31/whole-foods
Where's the Village. October 31, 2008. Added to this we have a copy of Nourishing Traditions. In the house now and Karen, who is a keen cook (just as well because I’m not) has been dipping into it on a daily basis. We’ve been eating broths and a variety of fermented foods, including a crazy relish thing I like, which seems to have two quite different tastes within it. We’ve also been eating sourdough bread regularly and using unprocessed sea salt and sugar substitute rapadura. Has to say about the issue*.

Suburbia DOA | Villageblog

Where's the Village. Laquo; We’ll all be driving one soon. Doom, Gloom and Ka-boom! May 17, 2008. I see a lot of people gleefully predicting the demise of suburbia – dependant as it is on the car for it’s full functioning, but I wonder where do we think all these people are going to go? Which is the effect of a lot of the doom – it reduces us to numb spectators. How often do doom-bloggers wonder aloud about why people don’t follow their advice, all the time unware that it’s the cons...And YES I realise t...

Socialisation | Villageblog
https://villageblog.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/socialisation
Where's the Village. October 24, 2008. I just wanted to pick up on the comments on Ran’s blog about schooling and socialisation because ever since we started telling people we were unschooling our children (often we just say homeschooling so as not to frighten them) the single most common objection we receive is;. 8220;But what about you’re child’s socialistion? After several irritating years of this it suddenly dawned on me that no one had ever said;. Also: Ran ended his piece with this comment;. 8230;i...

Where's the Village. Laquo; Free Will. 1 gone, 1 back and 1 idle. September 16, 2008. I’m the idle one, if you haven’t guessed. The gone one is Ted from Free Range Organic Human who left this parting message. UPDATE: I just checked back and Ted has made another posting. 8211; from what he says leaving the net behind is obviously not easy. This could be interesting. The back one is Dan, with a personal rebirth. About his recent personal changes and also a new essay. October 25, 2008 at 3:16 pm. You are co...
