Baby Food | Motherhood in 140 Characters
https://motherhood140.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/baby-food
Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. Mark and I are foodies, so we decided early on that we wanted to make Daphne’s baby food ourselves. We were very fortunate that my sister in law bought us the Baby Bullet for a shower gift. I have enjoyed making Daphne’s food and watching her explore new flavors. Take Peas for example. Here’s a comparison of the peas I make for Daphne and those peas that are commercially available:. And Daphne loves them. On the right, you have the commercially av...
Fun With Baby Gates! | Motherhood in 140 Characters

Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. Fun With Baby Gates! Yep, at just barely 6 months, my daughter started crawling! How is that possible? It seems so crazy to believe that just a few short months ago she was still in my belly, and now she is up and crawling all over my home and getting into things she really doesn’t need to be in. I thought I had more time to baby proof! Baby Containment Attempt #1. Baby Containment Attempt #2. But, sadly, this deal. Baby Containment Attempt #3.

Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. It has been a few days since I updated, but we have been in Florida since Saturday the 7th, and we are just now settled enough to where I can sit down and write a post. Seeing as how my last few days have been consumed with getting settled, I think it is fitting to discuss how difficult it is traveling with a baby. Now that I have a baby, I pack even more. It is ridiculous. Here’s everything we packed for our trip:. Here’s the full list:. Advice t...

Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. When I lost my job back in April, one of the first things I did was join a Mom’s group via Meetup.com. I had heard of meetup before, but never used the site. However, when I found myself playing the part of a stay at home mom, I knew I needed to bond with some other mommies in order to maintain my sanity. So (shameless plug) if you are a mom in Nashville area, please check us out. They have great events for kids. Either way, moms, please make sure...

Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. A Pumper’s Manifesto. Before I had Daphne, I was led to believe that I had two options when feeding my baby: Breastfeed, or Formula feed with bottles. Honestly, I had planned to do a combination of both, breastfeeding her before and after work and having her take bottles of formula during the day. However, there was a third option that no one really told me about, and that is exclusively pumping. One book I read, called. I am lucky in that I produ...

Off the Wahl Tales: The Kale Chip Debate
http://offthewahltales.blogspot.com/2012/05/kale-chip-debate.html
Off the Wahl Tales. The Kale Chip Debate. William loves food. The good part of this is, if it's not edible he won't stick it in his mouth. His favorite words are num, num, num, num, num? Num, Num, Num, Num, Num! NUM, NUM, NUM, NUM, NUM! He has even begun presenting us with applesauce containers that he pulls out of the pantry himself. That kid could win a hot dog eating contest hands down! So what do you feed a kid that hungry all the time? Very easy to make. One bundle of Kale. ONLY 75 cents! Well, almo...

Off the Wahl Tales. The Gift of Science. For Christmas, Mops and Gee Gee (Ben's Mom and Grandmother) gave our family a year membership to the Adventure Science Center. William LOVES studying his toys to see how they work. He spends tons of time studying and observing, so the science center seemed like the perfect fit for him.and boy were we RIGHT! Today was our first visit and they had a train exhibition near the lobby. William was in heaven! It took us an hour just to move past the lobby! Finally it cle...

Off the Wahl Tales. Aykut's Turkish Lentil Soup. My parents went on a tour of Turkey last month. Aykut (pronounced I could) was their guide. My mom included recipes and photos on her blog. I was in the mood for lentil soup and decided to try making one of the recipes that she posted. It was absolutely delicious. Here is a link to the original blog. 1 cup red lentils. Washed and picked over. 1/2 cup fine bulgur wheat. 2 Tb tomato paste. 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. Or red pepper flakes. 1 Tb dried mint leaves.

Off the Wahl Tales. Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. William has the most beautiful hair in the world. I just love his curls and so does my mother-in-law but after getting one girl comment to many and a little encouragement from Ben, it was time for a haircut. My mother-in-law claimed murder but it had to be done. So this morning was the day and I wasn't going to talk myself out of it. William even got a special chair to sit in. He wasn't happy about it. Even a sucker didn't make him happy. We still have curls!

Off the Wahl Tales. Friday morning I took William to Dragon Park to meet up with some other kids. It is one of our favorite parks in Nashville. It was so much fun! We tried a little bubble action but it ended as a big fail when the bubble machine didn't work. So we headed over to the slide (which he loved! I'll let you take a look for yourself! What is he doing now? Down, down, down. Just so you can get a better idea of the speed that William was going check out these videos here. Links to this post.

Off the Wahl Tales. Weeliciously Good Graham Crackers! As a mom, I'm trying to help William learn healthier eating habits than I have. Some of you may remember the Kale Chip Disaster ( here. With William starting preschool I got into a little rut on the same old packed lunch. At a play date one of the mothers turned me onto Weelicious ( www.weelicious.com. This weekend we decided to try the Homemade Graham Crackers ( here. Wow, why didn't I find this website MONTHS ago? 1 cup whole wheat flour. If you ha...

Off the Wahl Tales. We decided William was old enough for trick or Treating this year but first things first. Yesterday, William and Ben did a father son pumpkin purchase for carving and a ton of candy for the army of trick or treaters that would come to our door. After nap time, we got started on the pumpkins. Pops went first and mom went second. Both pretty simple. Which pumpkin do you like best? William thought they were both goofy. William liked the Nerds best! Links to this post. Since I had work a ...

Off the Wahl Tales. June Photography Challenge Pictures. So I couldn't resist.I had to go ahead a post as I go. My task was to take a picture of:. Didn't get a very good start on this.couldn't turn the flash low or off, and all I had was my iPhone when William started calling. I edited the photo on the computer to black and white, definitely helped make it look better! He is so stinking cute in the morning, even when he is a grump. I'm hoping for an improvement tomorrow. I think this one has more meaning.

Off the Wahl Tales. Happy 3rd Birthday William! May 12 - Sunday. Williams birthday landed on a Tuesday this year. Auntie Sarah came to visit. We planned to have his birthday party while Auntie was here.unfortunately that day was also Mother's Day, so it was a small turn out to his party. It ended up being loads of fun though! Williams party was in his favorite park. We reserved the picnic shelter earlier in the week. Party Favors: bubbles and glow sticks! We also had a bubble machine! And he loved it!

Motherhood 100: Introduction to Motherhood
Motherhood 100: Introduction to Motherhood. My first course in learning how to be a parent. Thankfully, grading is a pass/fail system. Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Lesson 3.7: Labor Day Celebrations. Jonah loves the slide! It's a bit tricky watching him because he can manage all the slides but not all of the climbing equipment. I always thought this was a boring toy for a playground. Then I brought my small child and it all made sense. Looking up to find Daddy. It's a lot of work to go down a slide. In th...

Motherhood in 140 Characters. A great WordPress.com site. Choosing in-home care was difficult for us. I visited a daycare center nearby and really liked them. I am not opposed to daycare centers. I was a daycare kid myself. But we went back and forth on whether or not this center was right for us, and I kept returning to a post I read on the BabyCenter Blog about a daycare center in Delaware whose workers were holding a Toddler Fight Club. 8220;You want a piece of me?
