One Mother of a Think Tank. July 1, 2009. So while I wouldn’t put my money on the details, the general concepts and trends are quite observable and that is where I would put my emphasis and thoughts on the subjects the book presents. That should give you an idea of some of the subject matter that it deals with. What are the biggest challenges to our willpower, and how do we face them? Even more importantly, how do we teach them to our children? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. 3 Respo...

Julie Lyles Carr: Potpourri Post
http://www.julielylescarr.com/2008/11/potpourri-post.html
Legacy of Hope Austin. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. A post in which I combine all sorts of seemingly unrelated little items that must go somewhere. Let's give a big round of applause for these folks, would ya? So in honor of Election Day, I thought I would make sure you knew about that other election you were all so curious about. I was honored to receive an Honorable Mention award in Scribbit's October Write Away contest. My entry was The Yellow Umbrella. Crazy Mama of 6. Steph at Problem Solvin' Mom.

Just a few questions to get you started talking… | One Mother of a Think Tank

One Mother of a Think Tank. Just a few questions to get you started talking…. November 30, 2008. Um, I’m just a dumb housewife and all but would someone explain to me why there is so much arguing over how to jump start the economy. One camp seems to be intent on lowering (or eliminating) capital gains taxes and another on putting some (or a whole truckload of) money into public works to create jobs. Would it be possible to just do both? Just curious. Please fill me in, someone. Just curious, again. You a...

Conservatives v. Conservationists | One Mother of a Think Tank
https://motherofallthinktanks.wordpress.com/2009/07/17/conservatives-v-conservationists
One Mother of a Think Tank. Conservatives v. Conservationists. July 17, 2009. Does anyone else find it ironic that conservatives tend to oppose conservationists? The knowledge we first gained wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t complete, either. Don’t jump to hasty conclusions. Please keep these things in mind if you are going to tackle the subject of global warming:. There have been increasingly more extreme climate conditions more frequently over time in the past century or so. Ignoring this fact is a little...

Moral Courage Part I | One Mother of a Think Tank
https://motherofallthinktanks.wordpress.com/2009/05/08/moral-courage-part-i
One Mother of a Think Tank. Moral Courage Part I. May 8, 2009. Next, moral courage is the commitment to moral principles such as these, combined with an awareness of a danger, or negative impact of supporting those principles and a willingness to endure that danger anyways. Dangers can vary from physical dangers to emotional or social dangers, economic dangers, like losing your job, etc. What if we have to choose between truth and loyalty? Between what helps an individual vs. what helps the community?

On the way back from the beach we met these ladies in Rainier, OR for lunch. Once again at my favorite Mexican restaurant by the river. Good food. Good company. Good weather. Jon and Laura K.
