sleepless in Sandy: The big Wonka day
http://sleeplessinsandy.blogspot.com/2011/01/big-wonka-day.html
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. The big Wonka day. Today we celebrated Ty's birthday with 12 of his friends. At our house. It was chaos! And the Willy Wonka theme was a blast to plan around. We had more ideas than we had time or resources. You could really run wild with this party theme. We kept it fairly simple, since it was for a group of 4 and 5 year olds, many of whom hadn't seen the movie. It all started with the candy bar invitations. Complete with golden tickets.

If you've ever made the homemade laundry detergent. In one bowl mix one bottle elmer's school glue (the white bottle- 4oz) with 4 oz water. Set aside. This green turned out so cool! Store in a lidded container and it will keep for several weeks!

sleepless in Sandy: upcycled baskets
http://sleeplessinsandy.blogspot.com/2011/05/upcycled-baskets.html
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Can I just say I love Family Fun magazine? One of my fabulous aunties gets an extra copy at her office and always brings it to me. Here is a great upcycling craft I found in the March issue: weaving cut up strips of t-shirts into baskets! Is for a rug made of t-shirt strips using a hula hoop for a loom. I was fresh out of hula hoops, so I skipped on to the tutorial for making smaller baskets. Using an embroidery hoop. Here is my first basket!

sleepless in Sandy: Roasted broccoli
http://sleeplessinsandy.blogspot.com/2010/10/roasted-broccoli.html
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. I know this doesn't sound very exciting, but I promise it's delicious! Roasting anything makes it better, in my opinion. Broccoli gets this nice, almost sweet crunch. we all love it and make this often. I like to use my Pampered Chef stone for roasting veggies. Just toss broccoli in a bit of olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and pepper, then roast in a 450 degree oven for a good 20 to 30 minutes or so. October 18, 2010. October 19, 2010.
