Monday, August 8, 2011. God doesn't want us to be happy. He wants us to be more than happy; God wants us to be blessed. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. Being thankful doesn't come naturally for me. Maybe it doesn't come naturally for anyone. All I know is that the week can go by without me noticing the little blessings in my life. Of course I notice the big blessings, like the $10,000 check. Afternoons watching cheesy movies on Syfy with my husband and son.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011. This is a repost from September 2010). We've all read the story of the three Hebrews in the fiery furnace - Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. These men were taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar and exiled to Babylon. The king wanted young men from the royal family and the nobility; men without any physical defect. They were to be assimilated into the Babylonian cultures - even given Babylonian names. Mishael, which means Who is like God. And Azariah, which means the Lord helps.

Friday, June 24, 2011. Bloom Where You are Planted. I saw this petunia growing in the crack of the sidewalk last night as I was walking and I just felt prompted to take a picture of it. This little flower has some lessons to teach us. We never know where the Gospel "seeds" we sow are going to end up. That is why Paul says , ".
