Monday, June 13, 2011. A Visitor and a birthday! What a wonderful experience it was to assist Connie as she went to the Temple for the first time. There are some moments in our mortal existence that are truely choice, and are defined above others. This was one of them! I am very blessed in the friendships I have been able to make while living here in Denver. Rick and I were able to go again with Connie on Tuesday. Elder Jonathon Bennallack with his new district in Tulon. In the afternoon, Tom, Sarah and ...

Overseas Adventure: March 2011

Thursday, March 24, 2011. Spring has arrived in Denver. Nearly two weeks have passed. I have spent a lot of time just content to be at home trying my hand at painting. I have found solace and peace as I have absorbed myself in trying to create something of merit. I have been satisfied with the results, although I can see room for improvement and will repaint two paintings. I had Chuck critique them yesterday, and I highly value his suggestions. I have found myself to be an emotional crack case! It starte...

Monday, August 1, 2011. California Roadtrip - Homeward Bound and A Mission Call! Our journey reversed itself. We passed the turn off to Lake Mead, followed the meandering road through the mountains, entered the cactus covered desert area, all the while listening to country music on the radio. I lay the seat back flat and drifted off only to wake as the car slowed down and we were entering Las Vegas. Rick had found a Post Office so we could post to our granddaughter Zayla who is turning TWO! There serious...

Overseas Adventure: July 2011

Sunday, July 31, 2011. California Roadtrip - Las Vegas! Soon after leaving the Grand Canyon, in Tusayan, we spotted two elk on the side of the road. It took us just under five hours to drive to Las Vegas, passing mainly through desert country with the unique rocky outcrops. The ground was covered sparsely with scrub vegetation, but I noticed as we approached the mountains that surround Las Vegas, there was lots of cactus, giving the surrounds a sense real cowboy country! The deserts of New Mexico. I had ...

Monday, November 7, 2011. Jack-O-lanterns at 'Trunk or Treat'. My girl, Karlie. First of all, this day is my eldest daughter Karlie's birthday! Happy Birthday Karlie. We are so far apart at the moment, but we are thinking of you all the time, especially today! But over the years it is gradually becoming more and more accepted. Karlie took advantage of this when she turned sixteen, with a great party with the Halloween theme. A lot of decorating, and a lot of fun. A Harvest display at Wal-Mart. It seems t...

It just goes to show how much you are enjoying your days when they pass you by so quickly! We were able to attend a baseball game! The last game the Rockies played, they lost it after a mega 14 innings battle. Tom ready to see some ball! A great view, nearly a mile high in the stadium. Tom, top back and center! Last week,...

Overseas Adventure: September 2011

Monday, September 26, 2011. Officially 'Fall' in Denver. During this past week, as the days clicked over, it happened that 'Fall' occurred. Officially that is, because it's been happening all month! As previously alluded to, a cool change came, and the cool temps stayed! Here in Denver, I am upside-down! It feels like Easter, but it's not! And there are pots of chrysanthemums in the shops, and it's not nearing Mother's Day! Sorry, I got caught up in a little daydreaming there! Because, we can! We watched...
