Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Be careful what you wish for. We were sweating it out in the humidity of the north, in Darwin, and then as we travelled south we were stopping and buying flannel pjs and extra blankets, and pulling on our shoes instead of sandals. The days were staying relatively warm with a few showers but the nights were dipping down to 2 degrees. Traveling south the weather was bound to be cooler. Dirt (get the idea of how red the really is? Dale's Gorge, Karijini NP. Weano Gorge, Karijini NP.

You really know that you are in New Zealand when you can see a local sheep shearing. We had this display at the Ambury Regional Park where we camped in Auckland that just happens to be a working farm. These guys can shear a sheep in less than a minute! Te Matua Nhahere "Father of the Forest", the widest kauri tree, 16.41 m girth.
