Friday, 29 June 2012. Solo flight at 16. David Marchington celebrated his 16th birthday on 28th May by flying solo. At age 12 it was suggested that he might be the youngest pilot in Great Britain. From age 11, his dad, Dr Tony Marchington, would take him to the flying club every Sunday for flying lessons.
