First, I would like to thank everyone who has been keeping up with me and posting your comments. It is nice to have a purpose other than just riding across the countryside. Due to the forest fire located north of Crater Lake that had closed down OR Rt. 138, I had to change my travel plans somewhat. I left the park and took OR Rt. 62 to 227, which let me out onto I-5 near Canyonville, OR. This route was just right for the Goldwing with gentle curves and plenty of scenery. S Umpqua River, OR. Motorcycle trip from Maryland to West coast and back. Day 27 and 28, Tahoe and Lassen NP. July 31, 2009. I left Yosemite and followed a route recommended by John and Vicki. I took Rt. 120 out of the park to the West then cut north to Rt. 4, which traveled northeast to South Lake Tahoe. Rt. 4 took me across some of the wildest high country in the Stanislaus National Forest. The road narrowed to one lane and crossed over Ebbetts Pass at 8,700 feet. Lassen NP, CA. The ride up was routine and I arrived sometime around 4:00 in the afternoon. Thanks to everyone who has “come along” on the journey. I left Jenny, Matthew and Spokane and headed out on Rt. 2 through Northern Idaho and into Montana, bound for.
