A tranquil enclave of peace and serenity. A very special place, special hosts. It will always remain in my memory as the example of paradise on earth. The mill far exceeded our expectations. The location was spectacular and it felt like we had the entire valley to ourselves. The mill itself was very comfortable with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. The beauty of the mill, the river, the wild flower meadows and surrounding countyside will keep me spiritually fill for many moons!

Situated on the banks of the Ouysse, known to the locals as the Emerald river for its sparkling clarity, Latreille makes all of its electricty from the power of the water. The Stonor family invite their guests to enjoy complete relaxation, off the grid, in this rural idyll. At Latreille time is passed in simple ways. Choose to relax in a hammock with a book, swim, kayak or fish on the river. Walk the meadows or cliffs and find a hidden corner in which to picnic, paint or just watch nature go by.

While staying at Latreille, there are plenty of local activities to keep you occupied: horse-riding, biking, canoeing on both the Dordogne and Ouysse rivers, fishing, swimming, golf (courses in Souillac and Brive) and walking the beautiful surrounding area. And, of course, picnics can be provided for any excursion. And if you are interested in the birds and butterflies of the region, there is the most amazing selection around the months of May/June, when the wild flower meadows are at their best.

The complete house at Latreille is also available to rent as an ideal location for workshops and courses or special celebrations, such as weddings and birthday parties, or more intimate family gatherings. The accommodation consists of 5 double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large combined kitchen and dining room, and a very spacious living room with a large wood-burning fireplace.
