Makings of Rachel Cake. Over the winter I have a bit more time, if just a bit. I donated cupcakes to accompany a birthday party at Crozet Arts. A friend bid on the package at silent auction and here is the winner holding her cupcake before the party. It was a mouse themed party so I had a great time making mice and cheese and even mini red velvet cupcakes for the mice to eat. It was just too much fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Makings of Rachel Cake. These are the cupcakes and cutting cake I did for my sister Tracy's wedding! It was so great to make my cake and eat it too! Thank you Tracy for letting me create your wedding desserts! Labels: smooth sided cakes. My first wedding cake at the new Trump Carriage House. Wow, what a view! I wish my photography skills allowed you to see the incredible fall colors outside those windows. The staff who served it said it was crazy good! And that is what this baker loves to hear.

Makings of Rachel Cake. First off, I should admit that this is not the best picture I have of this cake. I just can't pass the opportunity to use a picture of one of my cakes with a mulch pile in the background! I have many passions in my life and mulch is in the top three with cakes and sheep. I just don't feel right if there is not a pile of mulch in my life. My husband is rolling his eyes in agreement. Heidi and Randy's wedding was on their farm, next to their garden and that luscious mulch pile!

Life on the Guitner Road. Saturday, April 21, 2012. Butterfly's Twins - Banjo and Bongo. Monday, April 2. Bella opened lambing season a day before my vacation began and her sister, Butterfly, closed lambing season after I went back to work. Those silly sisters. Butterfly gave birth to beautiful twin boys, Banjo on the left, and Bongo (center). Banjo looks so much like his mama did as a baby. My little profile pic at the top right of the blog is a pic of Butterfly as a lamb. Links to this post.

Life on the Guitner Road. Sunday, April 7, 2013. I Found a Box Turtle. It's been a long time since I've seen a box turtle. Hayley and I went for a walk this evening and I spied him in a muddy roadside ditch. I put him safely in the pasture so he didn't get run over. I think he was just waking from his winter nap. Live long and prosper, little guy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Click for more Guitner Road Photos. See Us on the Web. I Found a Box Turtle. Chickens in the Road.

Life on the Guitner Road. Sunday, September 18, 2011. Hey, Blogosphere, I didn't forget you. Summer's dry, hot weather has passed. As we are nearing Autumn here on the Guitner Road, the rain has arrived. Remnants of Hurricane Lee brought nearly a foot of rain last week. The sheep got sheared Wednesday evening. There was a thunderstorm going on outside but all the sheep were dry in the barn. YAY! Dan (our shearer) will soon wrap up his fortieth shearing season. This month will mark a year she's been with ...

Life on the Guitner Road. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. I'm Downsizing but the Sheep Are Moving On UP. Two groups of sheep left here in the past week. The first group, six yearling ewes and stunning Mick, a ram, moved east of Scranton, PA. The ewes are 6 of the 7 sheep in the banner photo. The dark ewe in the center back and the donkey are still here with me. Thank you, Susan for allowing me to share the photo you took of the young ewes at their new home yesterday. Links to this post. With needle and stick. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. I have been really busy these last three months with sewing and knitting projects to the point that I have not even posted anything. For most of the time I was working to finish and write up the instructions for a sweater that I designed for a friend's wool. Rachel Willis, otherwise known as Mountain Girl Cakes. This photo comes from the blog www.beyondtheflavor.com, see their article. I had Rachel pick her favorite range of colors and using those I de...

Life on the Guitner Road. Monday, October 10, 2011. Of Sun Dogs and Puppies. I often see sun dogs in the evening. We have a great view of the west sky from our place. This afternoon I noticed these sun dogs rather high in the sky. We've had a week of lovely clear fall weather. Now the rain is moving in for the next couple days. BR finally got weather suitable for painting the barn. He worked at it all weekend long. Nice going, Mr. C! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees. We made our mountain greenhouse out of portable parking structure frame. It served us well! I’ve been thinking about greenhouse options for the ranch…maybe something combined with a small workout room? I started seedlings in the house weeks ago and will give the ground a few more. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! A lucky horseshoe from our little mountain home. I once heard someone say that if you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait five minutes. Snow is amazing...
