They Came to the Mountains. William Bailus married Nancy Ellender Silver. At any rate, we are descended from both John, and one of Henry's children named George. At the time Nancy married, the names were sometimes spelled differently. There were three spellings that evolved from the Roland name: Roland, Rowland, and Rolland.
