http://ontobq.blogspot.com/2015/07/san-juan-solstice-race-report-2015.html
No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. San Juan Solstice Race Report – 2015. I asked the magic 8 ball again how I’d do at SJS and this is what I got:. I figure if it predicted QR accurately then why not use it to find out about this race. I guess I’ll stop using it once it gives a negative response to something or my performance doesn’t mirror the prediction. I was hopeful I would/could recover and we’d just play it by ear. This r...

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Quad Rock 50 2015 – Race Report. Sunday was the rescheduled Quad Rock race – it was cancelled on the original date because the area had a ton of rain and the park didn’t believe it was in the best interest of the trails to hold it. I have no issue with that, and outside of feeling completely lost for the weeks afterwards and leading up to the race in regards to my training,. But I had faith in...

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Saturday, December 20, 2014. Three Maffetone Tests and the Santa Stampede 10k Race Report. So the fall/almost winter running has started – and along with that comes a return to utilizing the Maffetone Method as well as snow running and the Winter Distance Series. With all of that this could be a long post, but I’ll try and keep it to the most important points:. The diet – well that’s always a work in proc...I’v...

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Cheyenne Mountain 50k 2015 Race Report. This past Saturday I ran the Cheyenne 50k in Colorado Springs. It's a smaller race, and the first time I've run it. It's a two loop race through Cheyenne Mountain State Park purely on single track except for the first maybe tenth of a mile from the start. I saw the boys again going out for the second portion of the loop and they gave me an idea as to wh...

ontoBQ: How My Dog is Teaching Me to Run Downhill and Other thoughts on the Late Half of My Season

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. How My Dog is Teaching Me to Run Downhill and Other thoughts on the Late Half of My Season. For a while after SJS I had a bit of a lull training wise – even though technically my season isn’t over until September. It’s called being tired – no more no less. Listen to your body and run (or not) accordingly. For the better part of the past two months we have been somewhere almost every weekend:.

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Time to Taper – The Last Few Weeks of RRR Training. Of August was the last long run of the training cycle and marked the official start of taper before RRR. I’ll get to that run in a minute but just a bit of a rewind on the rest of last week and the week before:. The cutback week ended up being about 31 miles with 3k in climbing. Yes I do take my cutback weeks seriously. Monday – Off.

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Racing Weight – Week One. Last post I mentioned E bought the McMillan Racing Weight book and cookbook for me on Mother’s Day and since then I’ve made some pretty big changes in how I’m eating. I thought for prosperity it would be interesting to document what happens along the way – because week one was no Bueno. The intent is to lower your body fat all while keeping the lean mass you currently ...

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Monday, March 16, 2015. Salida Run Through Time Race Report – And Still I Run. One of my most absolute favorite poems in the world is Still I Rise by Maya Angelou. While I don’t pretend to comprehend any of the events that inspired that poem, it has always left me with the message that you do, no matter what, with conviction and resolve. In no way shape or form am I comparing this race to that poem. I love to have th...

No Politics - No Religion - unless you count running, because right now that's my focus. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. I’m bordering very close to the political line posting anything regarding the recent hubbub about marijuana use and ultra-runners. While some might not agree, it really is the political piece that keeps this topic - whether it’s recreational legalization, or medical marijuana- in the news. Obviously all of this is my opinion so yours may vary. Much like the other issues like RD’s mak...
