LA MONTAÑA NOS UNE. Cuartel Marques de Estella. El 29 de Mayo de 1993 se celebro la ceremonia de arriado de la bandera en el Cuartel Marques de Estella, seria la ultima y después seria cerrado definitivamente. Entre 1965 y 1979, aproximadamente, la Compañía de Esquiadores Escaladores de la División de Montaña "Navarra" nº 6 fue su único huésped. La Compañía de Esquiadores Escaladores 51 (así se denominaba desde 1985) fue disuelta en 1995. El Batallón Estella siguió en activo hasta 2006.

El día 24 de Octubre de 2014 se ha celebrado un acto de homenaje y recuerdo de los soldados de la Compañía de Esquiadores Escaladores Paracaidistas de la División de Montaña Navarra nº 62. Caídos en acto de servicio hace 50 años. La jornada empezó muy temprano, a las 8:00, con la subida a Pico de Orhi desde el mismo Puerto de Larraun. Visualizar vídeo del acto.
