F 440" = a 1970 model 440 block. 10 8" says the block was built Oct 8 1969. If the number "2" was stamped closer to the month day codes, then it would mean this was the 2nd block built that day, however, the wide spacing indicates the block was built during the 2nd shift. 2001 started out looking like it would be a great year! I had a local upholstery shop install the new top I had purchased through Reproduction Parts Marketing. In Saskatoon. The material was a perfect match and the fit and finish was excellent. By the end of October 2001, Doug had cleaned and restored the steering linkages, steering box and all the steel lines on the front clip. With the fenders, quarter panels, rocker panels and trunk interior completed, Doug started on the hood, trunk and the doors. The used hood Doug found was mint and required only a little work to make it perfect. We decided the cost to straighten this door straight would be far more than a replacement, so Doug went shopping again. 440 4bbl 350 Hp. Bucket seats and console. Antenna to be mounted on right rear fender. Ignition key light with time delay. Road Wheels (6 JJ 15). H70x15 Poly-glass dual white wall tires. Hood mounted turn signals. Driver side remote control mirror. 2 spare 6" JJ 15" rims for snow tires. Black and charcoal interior. Black roof with glass rear window. Before it was delivered, the car was sent to Ziebart. Unfortunately winter arrived so we didn't get to drive it much until the summer of 1970.
