Pretty much stuck with my heart sticking out. Saturday, June 27, 2015. I'm currently sitting in one of my favorite little coffee shops, congested as all hell but finally over the last bit of jet lag. The 'lag is never that bad coming to the states, thankfully. It just means I wake up with the sun for a few. I also realized that I take effortless breathing for granted on the regular. Pretty much stuck with my heart sticking out. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Happy birthday to me. Today I am 34 years old. Here is where I pause and roll that figure around and around in my head. Thirty-four. I went to a doctor last night who listened to my situation and agreed that I'm experiencing a relapse with my depression. Right now I am sitting in the hotel bar near our flat, having lunch and listening to an Egyptian and African discuss the current political climate here. Pretty much stuck with my heart sticking out. Friday, October 31, 2014. Egypt, part 7: jet to the lagged, etc. So chest cold, check. Jet lag, check. Welcome back indeed. I returned to a season in full swing- most of the leaves already on the ground.the rest on fire in reds and yellows and orange in the branches. It's beautiful. I wasn't expecting just how beautiful it would be. I don't mind the pulling on of sweaters if it means such color. Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Dubai is like being on another planet.

The Cairo airport is always a little chaotic, so I powered through the crowded entrance and metal detectors to get to the flight desk and then to my gate. The best part about the hour wait at the gate: when two women in hijabs started blasting DJ Snake/Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What." Not just once, but three times in a row(mostly the chorus, which is really all you need). I pay a lot more ...
