Thursday, 23 May 2013. Day9: Ruffurd to Sedburgh. Dodged the showers for most of today - just caught a 5-minute downpour before tea break. Safely negotiated Preston this morning without incident. However cock-up on the map-reading front resulted in a little while going off-piste making the day a bit longer than planned, and tea shop closed by the time we passed through Kirby-Lonsdale.on the plus side - I had always wanted to see Morecambe Bay! 23 May 2013 at 15:26. 24 May 2013 at 22:27.

Thursday, 30 May 2013. Day 16: Tain to Borgie. Third puncture of the trip (David's) at the start of our second longest day (71 miles). However, a real treat to head due North from Tain up to the North Coast through magnificent scenery in splendid sunny weather. The snow-capped peaks look less daunting than those we saw near Aviemore and even the northerly headwind couldn't spoil the day - in fact it improved it as we were forced to cycle extra slowly so could enjoy the scenery even more! Wednesday, 29 May 2013. Day 15: Carrbridge to Tain. Headed off in sunshine towards Inverness. Beautiful views over Moray Firth as we descended into Inverness. Bit of a challenge getting through city (limited signage compounded by roadworks contraflow on Kessock Bridge across the firth) - however made it across to have lunch in North Kessock overlooking the Firth: beautiful views!
