Verizon Wireless claims to have the nation’s most reliable network and while it was indeed the first to launch a LTE network, yesterday was the third time the 4G network went down this month. Luckily, 3G data wasn’t affected and the carrier managed to resolve the issues overnight so today LTE is back to operational, Big Red confirmed. Posted by vijay yarramsetti.

Sprint owns about half of Clearwire, which is having some financial difficulties as it looks to transition from WiMax to LTE. The company looks to have 5,000 TD-LTE cell sites functional by mid 2013. Unfortunately, none of these updates will be OTA, and will require a tethered update. Apparently, this is because Sony wants users to make a "conscious and informed decision to upgrade." That's a somewhat strange way to phrase it, and will most certainly make for a slow rollout even if the updates are made easily available, but we'll have to see how it works out.
