Halloween Event Was A Howling Good Time! MPAA and kids had a blast at the I’m Puzzled store in Pacific Grove on Halloween weekend. We made Arts and Crafts, played Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin, Spider Ring Toss and Halloween Bingo! Our friend Kylie came to join in the fun and share her new words! A portion of all puzzle sales went to support MPAA’s mission. As a result the foundation was able to fund Kylie’s speech therapy for the rest of 2011! Spaghetti Dinner and Auction A Big Success.

In August MPAA had its first fundraiser. The nonprofit’s kick-off “Candles for Kylie” gave the community an opportunity to support a little girl in need of speech therapy. MPAA started with the objective to provide Kylie with more speech sessions per week. As the fundraiser kicked off it became evident that the community was more than happy to support this cause. The fundraiser was a success! Here’s what Kylie’s mom had to say about the assistance she received from MPAA. Build it and they will come!

Autism is a bio-neurological disorder present from early childhood. It is a pervasive developmental disorder. The latest statistics released from the CDC estimate as many as 1 in 88 children are affected by Autism. The rate is significantly higher for boys affecting 1 in 54! Please take some time to go through the links provided here to educate yourself on the early signs of Autism. If you suspect your child may have Autism consult your doctor and seek a referral for a professional evaluation.
