MPBC Worship: Where's Your Heart?
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2017/01/wheres-your-heart.html
Tuesday, January 3, 2017. To start off the new year, I began rereading a book by Bob Kauflin called Worship Matters. Jesus said in Matthew 22:37- “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart. All your soul, and all your mind”. Emphasis mine). Jesus wants our hearts. He wants us to love Him more than we love music, our ministries, our loved ones or even our own lives. So, as a worship leader, where’s your heart? What or who do you love the most? Is it Jesus or is it someone or something else?

MPBC Worship: How Much Do You Practice?
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016/12/how-much-do-you-practice.html
Tuesday, December 13, 2016. How Much Do You Practice? One of the hardest parts of either being in the Praise Team/Band or Worship Choir here at MPBC is how little rehearsal time we get. Our normal choir practice lasts about 45 minutes and our normal Praise Team/Band rehearsal probably lasts a little over an hour. That’s not a lot of time to work and prepare songs for worship. So, what’s the answer to this problem? The old adage “practice makes perfect” is what I’ve always. So, how much do you practice?

MPBC Worship: Where is Your Focus?
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016/12/where-is-your-focus.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Where is Your Focus? When leading in worship, where is your focus? I know that for most of us we would simply say, “I just focus on Jesus”. And you wouldn’t be wrong with that answer. But do you ever think about the people that you are singing/playing to? Recently, we have begun singing the song “Great Are You, Lord”. During our worship times at church. A couple of lines from the verse say. 8220;You give hope, You restore ev’ry heart that is broken”. So, as we sing and play and...

MPBC Worship: January 2017
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Coffee Cups and Yawns. With this week's post I would like write a word of encouragement to everyone who leads in worship here at MPBC and in other churches everywhere. One of the hardest parts of leading in worship week in and week out is seeing people each week who don't participate. They stand there with their arms folded and mouths closed and we get discouraged. Why aren’t they singing? Why don’t they have their hands raised? Do they not love Jesus? We just don’t kno...

MPBC Worship: Unbelievable
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016/11/unbelievable.html
Thursday, November 3, 2016. About 8 months ago, we started the official MPBC Facebook page after deciding to use social media as another avenue to reach people. We started off with different ideas on content and timing of our posts. Well, I'm sure that those of us on social media know it's power and how quickly things can spread. Here at MPBC, we recently began to experience that with a post of a certain special music. This has also driven more traffic to the website, which is the goal of our page. View ...

MPBC Worship: April 2016
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Come to the Water. How often do you feel the need to drink? If we listen to nutritionists, we should be drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water every day. Thanks to coffee, I get about half of that amount within the first 2 hours of my day. Now, if my math serves me properly, I should be good to go until about 4 pm before needing another drink. But as we all know, that is not the case as our thirst will creep back around much sooner than that. So what's the point here? Just like...

MPBC Worship: God Hears the Soul
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016/11/god-hears-soul.html
Monday, November 7, 2016. God Hears the Soul. I have been involved in music since I was around 7 years old and for me it is easy to pick up on who is a good singer, who is in tune, and as the old saying goes “who couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket”. But I have come to understand that God doesn’t give a “hoot” about what someone sounds like, you see God hears the soul. Says “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands”. MPBC Worship: August 2016
http://mpbcworship.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2016. Next Monday is Labor Day! Records these words that Jesus said to his disciples “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”. Life is hard and it is extremely busy. And while I do have Labor Day off as a holiday I probably will be doing work around the house, you know, trying to cram in things that need to be done. But do I labor for the Lord with the same vigor? If I am totally honest I would have to say NO! During this upcoming Labor Day weekend let’s evaluate the ...
