MR340 Adventure

Friends of White River. Monday, August 4, 2008. My goal for this year was to finish before noon Friday. At hour 36, in the hot sun, my goal became simply to finish. I'm happy to say that I achieved both of these goals without too much ill effect (except for a few toes that are still a bit numb). Friends of White River. GPS and Google Earth Data. Official Time - 74:19. 22 miles to CP1. 340 miles that way! In Kansas City for check in. Needed some last minute gear. Info from the Forums that may prove useful. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Around 9 it really started getting dark. Fortunately there was a near full moon, so really no lights were needed other than the nav lights on the boat. I checked into CP3 at Miami just after midnight, had a piece of pizza, some recoverite and crashed for the night.

Info from the Forums that may prove useful. Thursday, July 17, 2008. I arrived at Coopers Landing, CP5, for camp right at 10 pm as planned. Unfortunately, logistics were not in my favor. The other guys had gone on to another boat ramp for camp, about 12 miles farther downriver. Anyway, its 2 am and Im at camp and settled finally.

A simple mile marker sign indicating I've completed 170 miles and have 170 to go. Who's idea was this? I'm going to float for a while, no reason to rush these last 25.
