Wood Grain | The Polish Squirrel

Book Inspired Nail Art. I’ve been seeing a lot of wood grain nails around lately, and I hadn’t attempted them yet, so I thought I’d give ’em a go. These were actually really fun to do, and I absolutely love the way they turned out! I think these are pretty fun, and they’re definitely close to fool-proof, so these might be good for any nail art beginners out there. Let me know what you think and send me a link if you try them! Book Inspired Nail Art. Posted in Born Pretty Store. Lately, I haven’t been doing much with my nails. Last week, I only painted my nails once – gasp! But I’ve been really wanting to get back into nail art, and since I used this blog as an excuse to buy. Of polishes from all the new fall collections, I kind of had to use them in a post. I wore it for almost a week after doing this manicure. The black lace is actually not stamping or water decals – they’re stickers! Hope you enjoyed these nails! I am so re...

Book Inspired Nail Art. Tag Archives: galaxy nails. It’s been a while since I’ve done a book-inspired post. I’ve actually been reading a lot lately, and fell in love with Emily St. John Mandel’s. These nails were inspired by. 8216;s gorgeous cover. They’re kind of a take on galaxy nails with less sponging and more stars. They didn’t quite turn out how I’d imagined, but I still really like them! Let me know what you think in the comments! And don’t forget to add me as a friend on Goodreads. They turned ou...

Book Inspired Nail Art. Posted in China Glaze. It was inspired by (who else? I started with a base of China Glaze Change Your Altitude. The cats were painted with China Glaze Cabin Fever and Essie In the Lobby, which were also used in the plaid. I also used Essie Leggy Legend and China Glaze Free Bear Hugs to add a bit more dimension to the plaid nails. This isn’t my favorite plaid, but I love the cat polka dots. I also can’t get enough of this color palette. Can you tell? Posted in China Glaze. I’...

Book Inspired Nail Art. Posted in China Glaze. Fall is my favorite nail polish season. I just love the colors every single year. Recently, I picked up. All of China Glaze’s The Great Outdoors collection. Obviously, I had to try them immediately, and came up with this look inspired by a pattern I saw somewhere online and now can’t find. My original idea was to do arrows, but I think these look more like pine trees (which is pretty fitting for a collection called The Great Outdoors). I haven’t ordere...
