Mr Connor's Resource for Teaching Literature. Wednesday, December 12, 2007. Overall Impressions of the Books in Class. Classroom. In parts Applemans. Text was hard to follow and many of her theories I would have to disagree on, but she presented her thoughts in a way that laid out her opinions and led you to question the theories presented. Applemans. Text presented a lot of opinions that I agreed with and presented a lot more interesting questions to consider. I liked how Wilhelm presented reading a...

Monday, November 5, 2007. I completely agree with you here, that's just so completely wrong. It doesn't matter how anyone looks at the war or what they think about this country, that's just such a heartless thing to do. I wonder how they would feel if someone came protesting their funeral or the funeral of someone they knew for being such heartless animals. It's just sick. I'm sorry you had to actually see them as well. November 5, 2007 at 7:39 PM. November 6, 2007 at 4:25 AM. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Me, Myself, and I. I am so happy that this is out of the way, mostly because I was so nervous. I just really wanted to say thank you to everyone in the class for participating so much in the group discussions and really providing helpful comments. I also loved how people really disclosed so much about themselves and their own experiences- it really made it easier for me. So thank you, and great job to Michelle too! Monday, October 29, 2007. Wednesday, December 5, 2007. Computer time in High School. See, that's what I'm talking about. Do we really need to have computer time in the classroom? December 5, 2007 at 10:10 AM. I agree, I didn't ever have much time in the computer lab either. All my assignments had to be done at home prior to class. December 5, 2007 at 10:11 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Maybe if I pull. It will come off this time. Finger prints smudging down. If I just push this skin. I know it will come off completely. I saw an eye shift downward;. This must be it. It's really coming off this time. My face can't come off. Or this acid is really good. Thousands of blurry-eyed strangers mill around,. Searching for the mediocre refreshments they were promised. I am from John Deere tractors;. I am from a place that is mine. How much time will it truly take?

Monday, September 24, 2007. Indy Teach: "The Skin That We Speak". I'd like to blur the lines between black and white, right and wrong, standard and non-standard english. In my lesson I hope to deconstruct the negative connotations often associated with certain American dialects. There is a quiz that I'd like my students to take called "Do You Speak American? Another aspect of my indy teach will be to discuss things like "white privledge", language in the context of culture, and sociolinguistic identity.

Over these last two class periods we have tried to present stereotyping from a small scale classroom all the way to how the world showcases stereotyping. It is obvious from our class discussions, activities, videos, ads, etc. that stereotyping is all around us and each one of us, in some way, also is guilty of stereotyping. So how do we end this?
