Mr.HinkyDink's UT Blog: December 2011
http://mrhinkydink.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
UT99, IT Security, Miscellaneous Crap. Monday, December 26, 2011. That's my "oh FUCK IT" face right there. But reality threw me a "Not so fast, sucker" on that. One box, although it was "new enough" to have a 10/100/1000 NIC inside did not, in fact have one. I had anticipated this and had ordered four of the cheapest gigabit NICs I could find. Five bucks each, unbranded, which turned out to be generically packaged RealTek 8169s ( shown below. The slowpoke is the BOT House box, which is still running Debi...

UT99, IT Security, Miscellaneous Crap. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Micro Center Monkey Business? I've been going to Micro Center for a long time. More years than you can imagine. I've had some interesting experiences and been treated in some odd ways. Not one of them asked if they could help. Not one of them said "Hello.". Well, fuck that. That location closed a year or so later. You know the drill. A couple years after that,. This kind of pissed me off, so when I went back Monday for the Presidents Day ...

UT99, IT Security, Miscellaneous Crap. Sunday, November 04, 2012. BOT House RELOADED - Part I. At long last, BOT House is finally reincarnated. And on a much perkier Intel box with a newer, 64-bit version of Debian. The new, official name is BOT House RELOADED or BH R for short. So much hardware has crashed and burned this year it's hard to keep teack of it all. First, it was the proxy project. And to complete the nightmare. on LVM. A few weeks after the derecho. Hit and knocked us out for four fucking.

Mr.HinkyDink's UT Blog: October 2014
http://mrhinkydink.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
UT99, IT Security, Miscellaneous Crap. Tuesday, October 07, 2014. A certain port, a certain country. Ever since that whole Chinese Thing. Which pissed a lot of people off, I've been ever so slightly cautious about dropping bombs into Full Disclosure. I mean, what business of mine is it if silly programmers think making a public proxy of your machine is The Right Thing To Do? After all, McAfee did it. So it must be a Good Thing. WTF were they thinking? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

SOCKS Revisited | Hinky's Proxy Project Notes
https://mrhinkydink.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/socks-revisited
Hinky's Proxy Project Notes. I have been threatening for months to resurrect the SOCKS code and I finally did it today. I had to find it first. The last time I was hacking around with it, I was doing all the coding on an old Ubuntu 6.06 VM, which apparently I lost track of. I finally found it, moved the code over to the new Xubu 9.04 VM, installed Anjuta. And recompiled it. It still works. And it’s still ugly. SOCKS proxies shouldn’t do that. Period. Is this some new trick? Feed for this Entry.

Hinky's Proxy Project Notes. Since I started tracking URLs, the Google Hack has been much more productive, mostly because it’s faster now. In all I have collected over 5,000 URLs since I started. Of these, about 200 are top-level links. I have just begun to pull these out at regular intervals to re-scan. So far that has been very productive. And they will put it all there. Are you listening, Google? But be advised the next time you come here it may be someplace else. Feed for this Entry. You are commenti...

Doesn’t look like much but it does the trick at identifying address:port in any page no matter what, unless it is otherwise obfuscated. Some dickhead proxy list maintainers like to keep each octet three characters wide and to pad the port with zeros, like this:. Revised 7/26/2008 to remove leading zeros from :port spec).
