Year 2 Green: Curriculum Focus

Our Curriculum Focus for Term 3. In MATHS we are exploring. Addition and subtraction strategies. In SCIENCE we are looking at forces, including pushes and pulls and how these forces act in air, on the ground and in water. Students will identify the effect of gravity and learn that both air and water can 'push'. In Religious Education, we are examining Sacraments and the lives of believers. We will taking a close look at celebrations, rituals, special meals and Christian Sacraments. Cool Math 4 kids.

Sunday, November 6, 2011. This Wednesday, all students in year 2 will sit their final maths test for the year. This assessment will cover concepts learnt this term, plus a few topics covered in the last few weeks of term 3. The areas for assessment this term are. Transformations (flips, slides, turns). Encourage your child to use the following strategies. Use manipulatives (counters, matchsticks, pegs, cereal). State the question in their own words. And access the multiplication and division activities.

Year 2 Green: Timetable and routines

We begin each day with a short assembly at 8.30am in the undercover area. Once inside the classroom, students exchange home readers before joining the circle for prayer. Parents and carers are always welcome to join us during this time. Students attend Library lessons on Thursday and require a waterproof bag for borrowing. Music and Physical Education take place on Thursdays. Assembly takes place on Fridays at 10:10am. Parents and friends are always welcome to join us in the new hall. Cool Math 4 kids.
