Shifting Dullness: January 2005
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 23, 2005. Tomorrow I start the new year. 5th year. I am now 2/3 of a doctor! With very much less than 2/3 of a doctor's knowledge! We're supposed to start at 9am at the University Department of GP tomorrow and I have a sneaking suspicion that the commitments there will take the whole day, dashing the hopes of those who thought we'd be able to watch a movie before the lecture at 5. Posted at 8:30 pm. Saturday, January 22, 2005. And to top it off, Arsenal suck at the moment. In a terrib...

Shifting Dullness: July 2004
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2004_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2004. On the C-L (Consultation-Liaison) Psych team, we have three consultant psychiatrists. One of them, whom we shall name as "Dr A" left on leave today, as his wife was being induced to birth tomorrow. Anyway, for a long time, we (me, Sa and Dino) had been wondering whether this guy was French or not. He had a strange accent, which at first sounded Australian, but had something else added to it. These are the facts:. He told us once in a tute that English was not his first language.

Shifting Dullness: First day of work
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2007/01/first-day-of-work.html
Tuesday, January 02, 2007. First day of work. Happy New Year everyone! Today was my first paid day as a doctor. Well, not exactly - I didn't actually do any 'doctor-type' real work today, just sat through a day full of lectures and tried very hard not to fall asleep. It's our introductory week, a week full of lectures and 'revision seminars', or in other words, cramming our brains with stuff we have already learned but managed to forget since our final exams two months ago. But we get paid for it!

Shifting Dullness: Malaysia
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2006/12/malaysia.html
Friday, December 01, 2006. Next Tuesday I will be leaving Perth for a trip to Malaysia. I'll be away until the 27th of December, so that's pretty much the whole month of December taken up by this holiday. When I get back, I'll have a few days to get everything in order before I start my working life on the 2nd of January! And we have two other doctors (my aunt and uncle) in the family as well. I don't want to step on toes so I have a feeling I'll just agree with whatever they have said to her. A blog abo...

Shifting Dullness: February 2005
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2005. Had an interesting experience role-playing the GP today. Each Monday, we've (the med students) have taken it in turns role-playing the GP whilst an actor comes in and pretends to have a condition commonly seen. The idea is that we get experience in consulting and managing common problems in General Practice. So I did mine today, and my patient was terrible. Stupid bloody somatisation. It was a total nightmare! Posted at 4:47 pm. Sunday, February 27, 2005. 150mg mane initially f...

Shifting Dullness: The dreaded phone call
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2006/11/dreaded-phone-call.html
Thursday, November 16, 2006. The dreaded phone call. But today I only slept in until 11am. At 1150am, the downstairs phone rang. I ran to pick it up, but I didn't get there in time and it diverted to the answering machine. The voice was scary. I said my name, and asked him to call him back. You can imagine my immediate thought: I HAVE FAILED MY EXAM. Finally I managed to get through. So sorry, there was a mistake. You're fine. You passed. Sorry to cause you any consternation.". Shifting Dullness: August 2004
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 22, 2004. Last night was Med Dinner. An absolutely top night. It was held at the new Convention Centre, and it was totally worth the 75 clams I shelled out for it. The convention centre is nice. It was very spacious as we came in - with nice drinks being served. And you could get whatever you wanted. They even got water for me. There was beer, red/white wine, softies and anything else you wanted to order. Posted at 2:28 pm. Wednesday, August 18, 2004. Geris is at Freo for me, so that means...

Shifting Dullness: Grad Week / Dedication Ceremony
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2006/11/grad-week-dedication-ceremony.html
Thursday, November 23, 2006. Grad Week / Dedication Ceremony. All in all, it was a very emotional day, an end to one chapter in our lives and the beginning of something bigger and hopefully much better. Pictures on the right and here. Posted at 11:19 pm. A blog about many things. Reflection on life as a junior doctor, an Arsenal fan, a wannabe amateur graphic designer, a lazy bum, a piner for times long past. Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Red Bull Air Race. The dreaded phone call. Flu / Man Utd.

Shifting Dullness: Back again!
http://jinnberto.blogspot.com/2006/12/back-again.html
Saturday, December 30, 2006. Wow, things sure have changed since I last wrote something here. The new Blogger has now been rolled out, complete with labels! I guess this means an end to my (lame) attempt to create labels with Technorati. heh. Anyways, I'll go back and make the changes to the old posts when I have more time. Speaking of time, time is something I don't have much of these days. I just flew back from Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and since then it's been go, go, go! And in between, we pounded th...
