Wednesday, February 24, 2010. 7-8 Social Studies News Update. 8th Grade U. S. History. The 8th graders have wrapped up their study of the Jefferson era. During this unit, the students investigated how the landmark Supreme Court decision in Marbury vs. Madison reinforced the power of the Constitution and gave the courts the power of judicial review. The students also created maps showing the territorial acquisitions made by the United States, including the Louisiana Purchase. 7th Grade World History.
