Apr 26, 2015. This week in Phonics/Language we will practice narration with The Tale of Peter Rabbit. We will also read “The King of the Crawdads” from Adventures in the Big Thicket. And Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit. In Nature/Science, we are planning to do an experiment and attempt to create salt crystals. We will read “Jellyfish” and “Floating Boxes” in Exploring Creation. The children will plant Snapdragons into the flower bed at the front of the school, and we will harvest turnips from the garden.

Apr 26, 2015. This week in Nature/Science we are planning to read about Sand Dollars and Sea Cucumbers in Exploring Creation. We will also introduce the prism and learn about how Sir Isaac Newton experimented with prisms. The children will perform an experiment with a prism, and we will use a prism with printed patterns to demonstrate reflection and refraction. We will also play Wildflower Bingo, and observe, paint, and plant a Bluebonnet. The children will work on painting Crosses in Art this week.
