MrsCollett's Vocal Music News. Vocal Music Methods of Instruction. New rhythm reading includes a hierarchy of rhythmic patterns. Also new: Solfege singing and melody. Students will sing patterns of pitches and use musical sign language that was developed in Hungary by Zoltan Kodaly. Children learn to follow melodic patterns also on flash cards. Students have been singing and playing to our hit song "The Barnyard Song". We have been playing each animal sound and singing the song in sequence.

We started the week with a visit to Skill Zone in Gloucester where the children were faced with different situations and had to think about what they would do, a test of their common sense and thinking about safe and unsafe situations.
