All Sachem students have been practicing with GUM concepts since elementary school, and they have continued to work with GUM throughout middle school. Any English teacher in grades 7 and 8 is able to hold his/her students accountable for the various GUM rules. However, our curriculum designates certain specific GUM skills for each grade level.
