Tuesday, 20 December 2016. Yesterday we went outside for extra play time because it was a beautiful day out. We took all the sleds outside and went sledding and played on the hills. We had FUN! I had fun in the snow - Ethan. Why didn't you come outside with us because we had so much fun! It was so amazing outside! We had sled buddies - Evelyn. I had super fun sledding! I had fun on the slide - Chance. We had extra recess because we wanted to have FUN! We played responsibly - Justine. Links to this post.

Tuesday, 20 December 2016. Attention All Parents: We Love Baking! Today we baked cookies. The kids got the ingredients from a little table brought it to our work stations. Then we measured the ingredients and put them in the bowl. Next, we stirred the ingredients together. Then we put the bowl in the microwave to melt the butter. When it was ready we added vanilla, oats, and coconut. Next we used two spoons to drop the batter onto the pans. Finally, we put the cookies in the fridge to set.

Thursday, 26 January 2017. STEM Snow Shovel Challenge. This afternoon we participated in another STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activity. The challenge was to build a snow shovel that could pick up a lot of snow. We used a bin of rice to represent the snow and the constraint was that students had to be able to use the shovels with only two fingers (to limit the size of the shovels). The materials available included:. Some very proud students who created the shovel that moved the most snow.

A very simple app to create your own books including text, photos, drawing, videos and audio. A great app for storing and viewing your Book Creator books, PDF's and epubs you buy online. This app allows you to add text, stickers, backgrounds and frames to your photos. We often use it to document the things we are learning about and then share them on Twitter, email or our blog. We had several guest readers, many different reading activities to do on our I Love To Read Month class bingo sheets, a great Family Read In Night, a very successful book swap, and a fun Cuddle Up and Read time in the Gym with the whole school participating!
