Mrs Moog's Mad World. Monday, 3 February 2014. One of the first books I read, when autism was suggested as a possible diagnosis for our twins, was called, Growing Up Severely Autistic: They Call Me Gabriel Here. I recall thinking that Gabriel's family life sounded like a cross between a slapstick comedy and a horror show. He would do things so comical that one couldn't help but laugh at his antics. Like scaling fences (twin 2 does this) and even once falling through a ceiling, very Frank Spencer!

I have another major reason for fearing old age and infirmity, because I have two severely disabled children who will always need to depend on someone for their care. I will not always be able to be that someone, and neither will their father (as he is eight years older than me). I know that most parents in my position have the same fears; how could we not?
