We studied the proportions of the face with the guide below and the students drew with pencils first. The document camera was a great resource as we went through the process together, step by step. They mixed primary color paints red, blue, and yellow to create secondary colors green, orange, and purple. Then, they painted abstract shapes in each of those six colors. We discussed some of the similarities between Chinese New Year celebrations and Rosh Hashanah, such as eating traditional foods and spending time with family.
