Thursday, 25 April 2013. Welcome back to a new term. Following an enjoyable holiday, the children will be rested and ready to work hard on the Year three units of work. This term is a nine week term. Here is an overview of what the Year three teachers will be covering:. The children are going to investigate what causes shadows. They will also conduct experiments that compare the temperature of different types of materials left in the Sun. Label continents of the world and locate Italy, China and Finland.

Reinforce counting patterns to 999. Odd and Even numbers. Counting patterns to 999. Expanding numbers eg 357= 300 50 7. Past, present and future tenses. Punctuation: fullstops and question marks. Continue with capital letters. Format of a narrative. Look at Orientation of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' - characters, settings and plot. Lent ( make a promise). Read ' The Last Supper' - discuss Passover Meal. Look at lifecycle of a bean plant. Label the parts of a flower. Week 4 and 5. WEEK 6 AND 7.
