Mrs. Stone's Needle : Brioche Stitch

http://mrsstonesneedle.blogspot.com/2004/12/brioche-stitch.html

Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Wednesday, December 15, 2004. I have been working on an old Godey's pattern someone asked me to help them with. It's for an undersleeve knitted in brioche stitch, with a ruffled cuff that looks sort of like peacock stitch, but created in a conical fashion. I will persevere.or get back to my green sock! Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Monday, January 03, 2005. Oh, I have the cold weather arthritis in both of my hands this week.so the needlework will be going slow. I am working on a simple winter shawl in worsted weight yarn. I am knitting it on size 10 1/2 (6.5mm) needles , getting about 4 stitches an inch. Sl 1, k1, yo, k to the end of the row. Posted by Knitting a Conundrum at 7:35 AM. Journeying West Before 1840.

Mrs. Stone's Needle : December 2004

http://mrsstonesneedle.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html

Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Tuesday, December 28, 2004. I have been somewhat busy, but did get a little needlework done. After fighting with dropping the brioche stitch combo one time too many, I put it on the side for awhile. First I started a triangular piece:. Continuing on until I got tired of it. It's a size for a doll shawl, but it would make a nice winter shawl done full sized. Slip the first stitch, k2p1 accross,...

Still working mostly on the same stuff I was working on last week. Posted by Knitting a Conundrum at 1:03 PM. Thursday, February 03, 2005. Weather's a bit warmer, and I found out that for some reason taking fennel and a few other supplements is helping, although not curing my achy hands, so I am getting some work done. But today, I am n...
