Sunday, October 18, 2009. I like The Breadwinner. I like this book because it is based on what is really happening in Afghanistan. Before I read it, I did not know very much about the Taliban or how badly women were treated in that country. Words can't describe how sad it is that children are being forced to do such awful, dehumanizing jobs just to stay alive. I feel lucky to have what I have! There is another book available after. Read it to find out what happens to Parvana and the rest of her family!
