My First Grade Website. Friday, August 7, 2015. Five For Friday - August 7. This was another busy week for me. I went back to school and started to clean my classroom. It is a long process for me because I like to scrub everything clean before I put it away. I am a bit of a clean freak so this cleaning process does take me a few days to get everything the way I want it. However, now I am in the process of putting things away where they belong. My First Grade Website. Monday, August 10, 2015. This is the area where I store all my art supplies. This is not the stuff that the kids can access. This is the stuff where I gather things for class projects. This big cabinet is the construction paper cabinet. I like to grab the color I want without having to go through a large pile. My First Grade Website. Sunday, December 30, 2012. My Favorite Ideas of 2012. I love these adorable penguins. I cannot wait to make them again in January. It was one of those projects that were so colorful and fun you could not help but smile when you looked at it. The original penguin was from First Grade Blue Skies. They were super simple to make and brighten up the room. My class was so sad when I took them down. I don't remember were I found these but these are wonderful. I love the character banner.

My First Grade Website. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. This week is all about Apples. We started by sharing the traditional poem: Two Red Apples. Then I had a little secret to share with the boys and girls.there is a little star inside the apple. We made an apple card. We did a little word hunt in the rhyme with our highlighters. Start the unit with the book: Freight Train by Donald Crews. On Monday.I have the students create a freight train.art project. For math lessons during the week, I do these worksheets from Making Learning Fun. I introduce one a day and then let them choose on Thursday and Friday for review.
