Mr Zippy's ice is never touched by human hands and is only exposed to food grade stainless steel. The water is purified by a multi-stage process before it reaches a container. The Purifying Process Includes:. Five micron filtration is used to remove salts (of the alkali metal group) from water. An ion exchange water softener reduces or eliminates hard water problems like lime scale. Granulated activation carbon more effectively eliminates most lead, chlorine, and other small particles from water.
