So this is my annual roundup of the 2016 season - but what is there to say? Wins the championship by virtue of having scored five more points than his team-mate Hamilton. For no apparent reason - and thus promote Rosberg from third to second in Brazil that really made the difference. And then, having won the championship, Rosberg promptly resigns - what are we to make of that?

Hefty daily doses of Vitamin D can dramatically reduce your chances of developing certain cancers, apparently. Recent news item - offering long-term contraceptive injections to women rather than have them rely on other ad-hoc methods "could cut the number of unplanned pregnancies by 70,000 a year". The report went on to say that objectors rejected such an idea as it "could help fuel promiscuity". Question - is this a proper and relevant objection? Sunday, October 30, 2005. Tick tock - aargh!
