Noriko Isobe, M.D., Ph.D. E-mail: Noriko.Isobe@ucsf.edu. I am quite interested in how much genetic background contributes to multiple sclerosis (MS) susceptibility in different populations and efficacy of disease modifying therapies. My colleagues and I are also working on the association of individual cumulative genetic burdens and clinical and MRI phenotypes of MS. 1997-2003 M.D., School of Medicine, Kyushu University, Japan. 2003-2004 Resident Kyushu University Hospital. Multiple Sclerosis Genetics Research Lab. The principal aim of our laboratory is to identify the major genetic factors that predispose individuals to autoimmunity and tissue injury in the central nervous system. Our goals are to apply and integrate molecular, immunological, informatic, statistical, and epidemiological experimental approaches, and translate this information into better diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention of multiple sclerosis and other neuroinflammatory diseases.
