Thursday, 7 October 2010. Dehli belly (or Tanzanian tummy, in this case) has struck! The beach is the whitest beach I have ever seen and the water, well, it’s just ridiculously blue. It looks as though someone has dropped a blue highlighter felt pen in the sea and the colour has leaked out. I’ve never really seen anything like it. Monday, 27 September 2010. So far, so good. Tomorrow we start our trek to Kibo base camp, at 4,700m above sea level. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours apparently, even at the granny pace we’ve been motoring at. Then more food and an attempt to sleep with about half (or a third? There has been many discussions about the use of diamoxx and whether or not we should take it. If you do decide to take it, there are seemingly endless options of how much and how often. So far, none for me or Andrew.
