FlipOut is a breakout game with physics. Everything is affected by gravity, and collides with everything else. Unlike most breakout games, the ball does not move at a constant speed. Instead, the paddle can be "flipped" to strike the ball upwards, much like the flippers in a pinball machine. Many of the bonuses affect various aspects of the physics, such as gravity or friction. I scored the 5th place (out of 12 contestants) in Assembly 2008 game development competition with this game.

I'm pretty much your typical nerd. I sit in front of my computer a lot, work in an IT company (where I sit more in front of a computer), and am single. I was born on 21st March 1984 in Espoo, Finland, and have been living here ever since. I have moved a couple of times within the city though. I studied at Päivölä Institute. In 2000-2002. It's a boarding school that offers a mathematics-heavy two-year high school program, ending in a matriculation exam ( ylioppilastutkinto.

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys". I've had several different miniature railways during my life. The first was a wooden one made by BRIO. It was the late 80s, so there were no fancy features like battery-powered locomotives. Just simple wooden tracks with grooves for rails and equally simple wooden trains with four wheels per car and magnetic couplers. Nevertheless, it was lots of fun for a 5-year old.

I got my first computer in March 1999 for my birthday, and have been collecting more ever since. Currently I own about 15 (well, one is technically owned by the company I work for). 6 of them are in more or less active use. I've omitted trivial stuff like generic mouses, keyboards and cases from the component lists.

Welcome to my personal web server. Here I've collected information about me, my computers, my software and my model railway. Updates happen every now and then. Finally updated the libraries. Page with links to git instead of SVN. Finished photographing my model railway locomotives. And added a section about my Model Expo 2014 layout. Added a page for pmount-gui. The railway section has been given a massive update. 10 has been released. Some more information on railway layouts. 10 has been released. Added...

My dad introduced me to programming when I was four years old. My mathematical talent and learning ability made it very easy to see the logic in all those statements. At first I turned to my dad for help with new things, but once I understood enough English, I started reading the manuals myself. I'm a regular in #c in IRCnet, with the nick tdb. Assembly 2009: Mechanical Tower.

Tunnelrace is a rather unusual racing game. The environment is a round tunnel with no global gravity. The vehicles attach themselves to the walls with a levitation engine. There are also deadly electrical rays in the tunnel which must be avoided. This game placed as 5th out of 9 in Assembly 2005 game development competition. Latest version: 20050728 Linux.

Software - Mechanical Tower. You are a mad roboticist of the steampunk age. Your latest plan of world domination was perhaps a bit overambitious, and now your robotic creations have gone haywire and are assaulting your tower. You must build traps to destroy them before they reach you - or suffer the consequences. Mechanical Tower is a tower defense game. But instead of defending with. Towers, you defend in. On the command line. This game got the 8th place out of 17 in the Assembly 2009 gamedev competition.

Builder is a program for building other programs, similar to make, scons and others. Its main design goals are minimizing duplication of configuration between packages and being as fast as possible. Features include integrated configuration and dependency resolution C sources. Why another build system? Helped to cut it down temporarily, but with the power of Python. Behind it, I came up with even more features. Thus I decided to write my own system from scratch to get the common parts in one place.

I've written quite a few libraries to support my other programs. Some of them are written because no C library existed for that purpose, others were born when none of the existing libraries were to my liking. All of the libraries are distributed under the Lesser GNU Public License. Which in short means: You are free to use my libraries or parts of them in your own applications, whether open or closed source, as long as you publish any modifications to my code and give me credit for my work. Either direct...
