March 10 - 16, 2012. This is the start of the final marking period. As the weather warms up it is important for students to not lose their focus on school. Report cards will go home with everyone on Friday this week. The Study Guides were homework over the weekend; due on Monday. Those not finished will work with Ms.Poel. The unit test on Rational Numbers will be Tuseday. Students who did not complete the study guide will not be allowed to retake the test for a higher grade. September 12 - 16, 2011.

April 16 - 26, 2012. This week we continue with using proportions with similar figures. All students had homework from last Friday (4/13) that was required to be completed over the weekend. In the Holt book it is chapter 5. Students should understand how to:. 1) set up a proportion. 2) use the process to solve for missing part of proportion. 3) tell if 2 fractions are equal. 4) tell if 2 shapes are similar. 5) use the shape test, angle test and side test. 6) read a story problem and set a proportion.
