The world- or at least the internet (the non-kosher, non-halal portion thereof)- is pretty much in agreement that bacon is, for all intents and purposes the ne plus ultra. So- why is there no meeting of the twain? Can anyone ever doubt that a crispy slice of bacon would be not only ennobled but improved by a quick swim in the peanut butter jar? Oct 27th, 2010 06:33 pm. A bunch of spinach. A bunch of kale. A bunch of purple turnips, large. Three small sweet potatoes (one with some holes in it). A handful of small and medium potatoes. Weighed about 11 pounds. 2010-10-28 03:28 am (UTC). I finally made baked kale chips recently and love them. So now I get super excited whenever I see kale. 2010-10-29 02:48 pm (UTC). I tried making kale chips once and burnt them, there's a tiny window between not done and overdone, but I plan to try it again.

They finished repaving our street, finally, after it being an obstacle course of sticking up utility access. About 2 pounds of carrots (very tasty). A quite small acorn squash. A small plastic clamshell of cherry tomatoes (not local). A bunch of collard greens (yum! A two-pound bag of wheat berries (I haven't finished the first batch). A medium head of green cabbage. Four apples of some macintosh-like variety.

A couple small bunches curly-leafed lettuce. Two weird radish things that are bright pink inside and look like turnips. A haas avocado, not ripe yet. A large bunch bok choi. A medium bunch chard. By Sunday I'll have worked every day but one for three weeks due to a combination of factors, the most relevant of which at this point is the fact that I'm leaving Wednesday morning for a 2-week break.
