Tea Ceremony | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/06/09/tea-ceremony

Study abroad in Japan. What a great way to end the Study Abroad! The traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony was a great experience. We also got cookies and a white bean sweet. They were both good and very sweet. The white bean one was really pretty! The ambiance definitely added a lot to the ceremony. The hallways were filled with rocks and there were stone statues and fountains everywhere. View from the window of the tea ceremony. Cooking your own food. Jun 12, 2011. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. JR and The Shinkansen | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/05/22/jr-and-the-shinkansen

Study abroad in Japan. JR and The Shinkansen. The Shinkansen, or the bullet train is a pretty amazing way to get around Japan. It is owned by JR, who we visited on Friday. JR is Japan’s largest rail company who has expanded to related companies in the retail, restaurant and hotel businesses. It serves 16 million customers a day, out of 59 million Japanese. We visited the Research and Development center, which is in charge of creating and implementing new innovations to make JR better. Post was not sent -...

Japan Rail | Beaver in Japan

https://beaverinjapan.wordpress.com/2011/06/12/japan-rail

Technology Review →. June 12, 2011. A Japan Rail train connecting us to the rest of Japan. It was the Japan Rail that allowed us to travel from Tokyo to Osaka and then from Osaka to neighboring smaller cities including Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Nara. Even the ferry that took us to Miyajima was JR! Normally, all this traveling via the system would add up very quickly and cost a boat load of money. For foreigners only, however, there is a deal known as the JR Pass. A photo of my Japan Rail Pass. Build a websit...

From the mind of LaCole. Exciting things coming up this summer! But anyways, that’s where I am at hair wise. I’ll probably post another section about my hair regimen, so that people who are thinking about transitioning or are transitioning now can have other people to talk to. Another exciting thing I am ready to embark on is my health and fitness kick. Starting on July 4th (yes on the holiday lol). And will be going for 63 days. I am going to be doing the Insanity workouts. Forgot to turn off the lights?

NTT docomo | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/ntt-docomo

Study abroad in Japan. We visited NTT docomo’s Research and Development Center. It was pretty far away and a shorter presentation, but it was very cool! We first watched a movie about Mama Gupta, and how she had friends all over the world but couldn’t visit them because of her physical condition. So all of her friends used futuristic mobile devices and got together and played a song for her over the wireless network. I thought it was a very cute and touching movie. And if not, why? Nekobukuro! | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/06/07/nekobukuro

Study abroad in Japan. Today I went to Nekobukuro in Ikebukuro. It was called a “Cat House” and basically I paid 600 yen to hang out with some cats for about an hour. It was awesome. The cats were not incredibly friendly since they probably get people trying to pet them all the time. They wouldn’t come up to you or anything, but they would be willing to hang out if you put some effort in. Futurescope and Lucent Pictures. Jun 09, 2011. That’s pretty cool! Jun 11, 2011. Getting sick in Tokyo | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/getting-sick-in-tokyo

Study abroad in Japan. Getting sick in Tokyo. It finally happened… I got sick! I’m usually pretty healthy, but then again, I’m usually not surrounded by tons of people in near constant rain. I tried to go to the store to get some medicine, but you know how American medicine is all written in English? Japanese medicine is all written in Japanese. Imagine this was all Japanese. Now it's a mystery box with pills on it. Technology Review – NTT docomo Ring. Jun 02, 2011. Jun 03, 2011. Jun 03, 2011. You are co...

https://benfico.wordpress.com/page/2

Study abroad in Japan. Our trip to Kobe University was a lot of fun! The students we met were mostly English language students, so we could actually get to know them more than names and hobbies. We first had lunch together and then presented our technology and social media presentations to each other in a very official looking board room. The Japanese presenters spoke near fluent English and gave great presentations. Flowers growing in Hiroshima Park. When we walked through the park, we saw a destroyed b...

Super Sento | Ben Fico

https://benfico.wordpress.com/2011/06/05/super-sento

Study abroad in Japan. Well I went to a public bathhouse. Today I was finally feeling better and able to go out and do something, and I felt like doing something healthy to get started back on the right healthy foot. So I went to LaQua, a large public bathhouse (or Super Sento) near the Tokyo Dome. It really wasn’t that big of a deal actually. No photos for this post, obviously! 8221; and stepped in – it was freezing cold! Who would want that! There was a colder jacuzzi close by. Whatever. My thoughts ab...
