The Montreal Storytellers Guild. Telling tales in the mountain city. History of the Guild. There has never been a society that did not include storytelling as an integral part of its culture. Before radio, movies, and television, it was storytelling and the singing of popular songs that filled leisure hours with tragedy and triumph, laughter and tears. In Canada, the USA, England, France, Sweden, and Australia, to mention only a few, we have seen a significant revival of storytelling in all its forms.
