Mount Pleasant's history reaches back into the early 1700s. Its beginnings are rooted in colonial times when, in 1727, James Holmead received a patent from Charles Carroll, Lord Baltimore, for a large parcel of land that included the area to the east of Rock Creek and south of. When its streets were first platted in the 1860s, Mount Pleasant was one of Washington's first suburbs offering an escape from the city. Since that time Mount Pleasant. We picked up one of these bad boys at Costco for $49.99: the Sensible Eco Living motion activated trash can. Until it was time to empty it. This turns out to be one of those "did you actually ever use this thing" moments. Really, Mr. Sensible Eco Living, did you? The trash can must be at least as big at the top, as it is at the bottom.
