One Piece at a Time...: January 2016
http://noviceefforts.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
One Piece at a Time. The blog of a novice quilter. Monday, January 25, 2016. I have been practicing more with the nine patch. I saw this idea and thought I would give it a try. Of course I had to use some fabric with Mickey Mouse on it! After sewing the rows together like a basic nine patch. I cut the block in half both ways. Then the fun part.flip the pieces around any way you want! Here is how mine turned out :). Thursday, January 21, 2016. I have started my practice for the Neighborhood Party. This is...

One Piece at a Time...: January 2017
http://noviceefforts.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
One Piece at a Time. The blog of a novice quilter. Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Finally, I am getting the time to post about our Round Robin! This was so much fun! We start out by sending one piece to the next person. The piece we send first, will be the center of our finished product! First, is mine, after I received it back from each Round Robiner. Mickey Mouse was my inspiration and I passed it along to the others who added something perfect in each round! Next, is Ida's. I love the way it turned out.

One Piece at a Time...: More Practice
http://noviceefforts.blogspot.com/2016/01/more-practice.html
One Piece at a Time. The blog of a novice quilter. Sunday, January 10, 2016. So I decided to try an actual "patchwork block." I cut out several 4.5 x 4.5 pieces of fabric and arranged them into a 3 x 3 block. I sewed each row of 3 together. And finally, sewed each row to the row beneath it. Here is the final product. The hard part is getting each of the pieces to line up with one another. This is one of my favorite "practice attempts" so far! January 10, 2016 at 7:09 PM. I love the colors you chose!

One Piece at a Time...: Practice Attempt
http://noviceefforts.blogspot.com/2016/01/practice-attempts.html
One Piece at a Time. The blog of a novice quilter. Saturday, January 2, 2016. I have been inspired to start learning how to quilt after seeing all of the beautiful quilts my aunts ( Ida. Have made, my grandmother has made, and recently, my Mom. This experience is easier said than done. Getting used to the sewing machine, threading the needle, and winding the bobbin is tricky business for a novice! I was excited to start my first project of Sun Bonnet Sue thanks to my aunt, Irene. Keep it up Sara! January...

One Piece at a Time...: Practice Project #3
http://noviceefforts.blogspot.com/2016/01/practice-project-3.html
One Piece at a Time. The blog of a novice quilter. Thursday, January 7, 2016. New and Improved Sunbonnet Sue. I practiced Sunbonnet Sue again today and this time, added in a dog! I used a zig-zag stitch all the way around each piece. Finally, I added a piece of ribbon to use for the dog's leash! This is still not perfect, but it looks better than the first attempt of Sunbonnet Sue in my opinion! January 7, 2016 at 7:05 PM. Keep on practicing :). By the way, I think I am your Scottsdale visitor.

501 Quilt Blocks: Paper Piecing Fun
http://www.501quiltblocks.com/2014/07/paper-piecing-fun.html
Friday, July 4, 2014. I ordered a new Paper Piece Pattern from Craftsy. By Juliet of Tartankiwi. It's the most beautiful butterfly pattern. It took me a couple of hours to put together Part A and B.incorrectly. It was my fault for not following the direction to color my pattern so I wouldn't get confused about which fabric goes where. Here's the first try. The arrows show wrong color and mismatched seam. The second time around (following directions) I sewed it together correctly and in half the time.
