Outright Chicken: December 2011
http://outrightchicken.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 17, 2011. A chicken by any other name. There's no real hurry to relocate them, I guess. They have plenty of room and are in a climate-controlled area. It's clean, with plenty of fresh food and water every day. Plus, they spend some time, weather permitting, running around their Run some afternoons. Oh, well. They'll move out into the real world soon enough. Maybe January. We'll see how January is. And see there personalities we did. Miss Lynn - Red Star. Bronny - Dark Brahma.

Outright Chicken: A Lot of Fuss and Feathers
http://outrightchicken.blogspot.com/2012/03/lot-of-fuss-and-feathers.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. A Lot of Fuss and Feathers. At just over twenty weeks of age, my six Girls are coming along just fine. Miss Lynn, so far, is the only one laying any eggs (click. For more on this). And the others are gearing up to start soon (hopefully). The roost I constructed from discarded tree limbs seems to be used quite a lot, based on the pattern of chicken droppings below it. And all day a steady cooing, clucking, and buk-buk-buk-bukawwing emanates from The Run. According to this website.

Girl on the Plot: wintery colds and new ideas...
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2015/01/wintery-colds-and-new-ideas.html
Sunday, 25 January 2015. Wintery colds and new ideas. Yet again I am full of this horrible cold that is going around, its grim and I just find I'm staying indoors keeping warm. Equally the weather this last couple of weeks has been so cold, with ice, snow and really cold winds, its been hard to hibernate! The hens have no interest in coming out, they maybe mooch for 5 minutes then go back into the warmth of their under cover. Sargent Tazbo the bad ass cat who needed an ASBO. This is my last week at work!

Girl on the Plot: October 2014
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 27 October 2014. Autumn days and darker nights. I love the clock change - said no one ever! It messes with my chi! The getting up in the dark (having to drive a dodgy French made car with Dodgier electrics to work in the dark), the cold mornings and worst of all having to concede to giving yet more of my money to the energy companies! No, probably the worst of all is the miserable feeling I seem to develop around this time of year, it drives me mad - quite literally. Sunday, 12 October 2014.

Girl on the Plot: October 2013
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 4 October 2013. I know, I know its been a while! I have so much to tell - where to start? I suppose, an explanation of my absence? Here he is in all his glory:. It had also tried to get into the existing girls who where all of a tizz, but because they reside in 'the lock up' it couldnt get in and gave up. The allotment is coming to and end now and really needs a good tidy up which is this weekends plan. In terms of my crochet and preparation for the big C Im away! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Girl on the Plot: December 2013
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 4 December 2013. I know I haven't been around but i do have a good excuse! And this could potentially turn into a mega long post! But it has been immensley rewarding and in a lot of ways cheaper. Now obviously this is A LOT easier to do if you dont work and have a huusband who lets you basically get away with murder and a creative mind (though i do believe everyone has a creative mind) and resources. I have loved every single minute of it! It has been a real opener as what can be achieved for ...

Girl on the Plot: garlics, beets and caulis
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2015/02/garlics-beets-and-caulis.html
Sunday, 15 February 2015. Garlics, beets and caulis. My week has been so busy! After consulting the growing wheel I decided planted up the garlic. I never have any luck with garlic, I don't know why, but this year I have a new tactic, I'm growing it in trugs as opposed to the ground, maybe I'll have better luck this year! So armed with dibber and ruler I set to work planting the cloves 4 inches apart 3 inches deep. I'm thinking leek and potato soup! Frame the raised beds with wire. Fingers crossed - I ho...

Girl on the Plot: March 2014
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 March 2014. A Very Productive Weekend. Which frankly would not have been as productive if I hadn't had the help of my wonderful family! On Saturday Papa O and Tracy finished putting the new chicken pen for me, I'd like to say with me - but I actually didn't do much other than making brews and trying to straighten out the weather vane on the top of the shed with about 10 roofing nails! For the record its now straight! Saturday afternoon, Duck (AKA mum) helped me go get some new hens! Last night...

Girl on the Plot: February 2015
http://girlontheplot.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 21 February 2015. This week has been mega busy! And I'm blogging on a Saturday because tomorrow (Sunday) I'm on a mammoth 12 hour shift! Monday started with playscheme, Miss Boo and I went bowling with the playscheme children who are deaf, Boo had a great time meeting new people. Tuesday I spent on the plot. First things first on the plot make a brew and as I'm there Martha and Dolly caused a door blockage and mugged me for ginger biscuits! Not so much a brew though). These two things Martha, p...
